Everyone wants to be a Presenter

22 04 2009

As mentioned in previous posts, Chyron has a presentation area on the booth.  The presentation explains the message of Distributed Centralization.  During the show the presentations were done by Phil Carmichael, Director of Product Marketing or Kristy Weir, Product Specialist alternating throughout the show.  However, our very own Midwest Regional Sales Manager, Randy Dickerson, decided that he would like to channel his broadcasting anchor days and take a turn at giving the presentation.  Like Phil and Kristy, Randy did a fantastic job at helping explain the message during the presentation!

Press Exposure is at an All-Time High

22 04 2009

As a result of the press conference, Chyron has received some great exposure from the press.  While reading the NAB Daily this morning, I found a paragraph about Chyron in a write up from the floor of the South Hall Lower.  Below is the piece of the article written by Bob Kovacs of TV Technology.

“Even paragons of the broadcast equipment industry such as Chyron are embracing the Web.  Chyron just introduced services that let you edit video and creat graphics anywhere you can get online, and the company will host this content on its own Web servers.  Chyron has obviously hit a nerve, as the company’s large booth was jumping every time I looked.”

Software-as-a-Service is in the Spotlight

21 04 2009

Today our very own Jim Martinolich gave a conference paper on Software-as-a-Service being accepted in the Broadcast market.  The paper was given during the Broadcasting Engineering Conference at the show.  Jim did an excellent job of explaining how SaaS services such as Chyron’s AXIS product are of extreme value, as they provide exceptional ROI to stations.

Back on the booth, we were still consistently busy giving demos, presentations and meeting with clients.  More pictures of the booth are below.

Busy Start to NAB

20 04 2009

Today was the start of the NAB show in Las Vegas.   This year Chyron is doing things a bit different.  Normally we showcase products at each workstation on our booth.  However, in 2009, Chyron is focusing on solutions for our customers.  We have the following workstations on our stand: Newsroom Production, Graphics Production, Sports, Channel Branding & Promotions, Centralization, Digital Signage as well as our theather presentation of Distributed Centralization.  Also on our booth, will be 5 AXIS Partners.  These partners all bring something different to the AXIS services for our clients.

The booth was pretty busy.  Multiple customers stopped by to view our presentation as well as our demos.  One of the big hits of the show was our 3D graphics station with footage from the NBA All-Star Weekend!  Below are some images from the show.

Update – Click here to see what one of our freelancers thought of the 3D graphics.

NAB Festivies Start Off With Chyron’s Press Conference

19 04 2009

The Sunday prior to the opening off the NAB show at 8am the place to be is the Chyron press conference.  Before the start of the conference Bob Kovacs from TV Technology stopped by to say hi!  Bob wins the award for the Best Tie of the Day!  His guitar tie definitely stirred up conversation with everyone in the room!!

The press conference went off with a BANG!  The 40 or so journalists that attended the event learned exactly what Distributed Centralization is all about.  CEO, Michael Wellesley-Wesley and COO, Kevin Prince went over the new theme for the year, as well as the new enhancements that we launched at the show.  New for 2009 is the HyperX3, EAS-HD, iRB, Channel Box Version 3 as well as AXIS enhancements that will be available in our summer release.  Also mentioned during our press conference was the mention of our AXIS Partners.  During the show five partners, including Asseto, Txtstation, Forbidden Technologies, Polopoly and MaxT Systems, will be on our booth.

What is Chyron showing at NAB?

2 04 2009

Distributed Centralization

Nobody provides true ROI like Chyron, and this NAB will be all about providing you with the tools to get the most out of your existing infrastructure and future equipment purchases.

While giving you the option of utilizing all available playout systems to fulfill your operational objectives, Chyron’s professional offerings will show you real, verifiable ways to inexpensively enhance your graphics production.  We are not just nibbling at the edges with product price reductions, nor providing feature enhancements that do little for your bottom line.  Chyron will demonstrate a collaborative environment that will not only serve you well for years to come, but one which also delivers immediate results.
