SABC Uses Chyron’s Election Package

Reading, UK –  July 28, 2009: Chyron (NASDAQ:CHYR)  has announced that the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) deployed a total of eight Chyron HyperX² graphic systems for coverage of the recent South African elections.

The HyperX² systems include full election graphics packages, on-site support and complete database integration with SABC’s Election Results System. The combined technology – linked with South Africa’s Independent Electoral Commission – provided results to the HyperX² systems for instantaneous graphic display as the information came in.

HyperX²’s animated 3D graphics capabilities enabled SABC to display real-time bar charts and statistical voting data, giving the broadcaster a leading edge in reporting results to viewers.

Chyron’s HyperX² system combines award-winning Lyric^® PRO 7 motion graphics features with a powerful video graphics processor able to simultaneously manipulate dozens of 3D layers of text, logos textures and movie objects, all in real-time. This combination provided SABC with an easy-to-use package that resulted in stunning graphics, plus the highly useful ability to jump instantly to and display any set of available data, even outside of a predetermined sequence.

KLAS-TV LATEST TO ADOPT CHYRON AXIS ONLINE GRAPHICS SYSTEM

Melville, NY – July 22, 2009: Chyron (NASDAQ:CHYR) today announced that Las Vegas CBS affiliate KLAS-TV has adopted Chyron’s “AXIS” online content creation system.

KLAS needed to find a way to sustain newscast quality while reassigning the resources typically required solely for creating news graphics. It found the solution in AXIS, the world’s first online content creation system for broadcasters and new media providers.

AXIS is a SaaS (Software as a Service) package operating over the internet to provide high-quality graphics for broadcast and web-based video outlets. Requiring no hardware or software, AXIS enables anyone with an Internet connection to instantly fulfill broadcast quality news graphics, still or animated maps, bar and pie charts financial stock quotes, and weather graphics.

According to KLAS Creative Director Lee Minard, “We now have traditional graphics people using AXIS right alongside newscast producers and directors. DNF Controls Provides Chyron’s Channel Box 3.0  With Fast, Reliable Push-Button Control

SYLMAR, Calif. July 6, 2009 — DNF Controls, a global provider of field-proven control solutions for the broadcast and post-production industries, is now providing its Universal Switch Panel (USP) on an OEM basis to Chyron.  Sold by Chyron and called the “Control Master,” DNF Controls has capitalized on the USP’s customizability to give Chyron’s Channel Box 3.0 users fast, reliable pushbutton control in place of using a Windows interface.

Available in 8- and 16-button configurations, the 1-RU Control Master panel is perfectly suited for installations where real estate is at a premium.

Designed for non-programmers, DNF’s standard USP is easily configurable via a web browser.  Similarly, Chyron’s Control Master version of the panel is configured from the Channel Box Windows user interface.

Channel Box V3.0 is the latest software release of Chyron’s family of powerful, cost-effective and customizable branding and automated promo systems. Designed for ease of interfacing and integration with facility automation, traffic and management systems V3.0 is a state-of-the-art release.

Buttons can be easily configured to control any scene within the Channel Box database, including dynamically updating text within a scene.  Leveraging the power of DNF’s USP platform, each button of the Control Master supports multiple states: the first press may ‘Open’ a scene, the next press ‘Play’ the scene, etc.  Each button is backlit in a choice of colors and features LCD text, both of which can be programmed to change dynamically based on state. Buttons will flash red if an error condition exists.  All communication is transmitted via Ethernet, keeping installation simple.
